Bryce Canyon National Park’s peak season is underway, with March bringing often times visitation levels 2 to 3 times that of February.Â
Currently, within the park the Visitor Center and Bookstore are open daily from 8 a.m.to 6 p.m., with hours of operation extending to 8 p.m. beginning on Sunday, May 8.
Shuttle Services
In an attempt to continue to help reduce parking congestion at popular viewpoints, as well as the Visitor Center, the Bryce Canyon Shuttle system will resume operation on the 1st of April. Unlimited use of the park shuttle services is free with your park admission. Similar to years past, vehicles that are 20 feet and longer are restricted from parking in the Bryce Amphitheater viewpoints during the shuttle’s hours of operation.
The Bryce Canyon Shuttle will run during the 2022 season beginning on April 1st, and ending on October 23rd. The shuttle services will depart daily beginning at 8 a.m., with the final bus leaving the park at 6 p.m. Extended hours for the shuttle are slotted to run May 14th through September 25th, with the last shuttle leaving the park at 8 p.m.
Those wishing to board the shuttle outside of the park need to be prepared to show proof of admission, whether that be an annual or a digital pass. If you are needing to purchase a digital pass, instructions to do so can be found posted at the boarding areas. Digital passes purchased prior to your trip can help cut back time spent at the park entrance stations.Â
Campground Areas
For those opting to camp within one of the park’s developed campgrounds, consider using the shuttle as an option to getting you to and from your campsite. Loop A leading to the North Campground, remains operation all winter at a first-come, first-served basis for camping. The North Campground will transition to a reservation bases system beginning on May 27th through October 1st. The Sunset Campground will continue it’s first-come, first-served camping April 15th through October 15th.Â
The Sunset Campground group site will be open for reservations from May 20th through October 15th. Those wishing to make reservations for the North Campground and the Sunset Campground Group Site should note that reservations can be made online or via phone six months in advanced.Â
Dining, Activities & Other Amenities
The Lodge at Bryce Canyon and the Sunrise Point General Store are set to reopen for lodging, food and other amenities, on April 1st. Lodging reservations for the Lodge can be made online or by calling Forever Resorts at 877-386-4383.
Additional Lodging options are also available with quick and easy access to the Bryce Canyon Shuttle Stops outside of the park in the neighboring towns of Bryce & Tropic.Â
Those wanting to explore below the canyon rim, Canyon Trail Rides will begin offering horse and mule rides no later than May 1st, weather and trail conditions permitting. Visit Canyon Trail Rides online to view trail rides offered and booking information.
